I’ve been having trouble finding the perfect moisturizer for my oily skin to add to my skincare routine. After doing research on different brands to natural products to Chemical products. I just felt overwhelmed over the products that are out in the beauty industry world. I realize that I’m not alone with finding a simple skincare routine. Thanks to stylist.com I found an easy way to take care of our skin for each skin type from normal, dry, sensitive, oily, and my aging glamies.
The first thing is figuring out what type of skin do you have. If you don’t know which skin type you have here’s how to find out. At the end of this post, you’ll know what products will work for you.
For dry skin…
Your skin feels tight. It’s matte majorly of the time. When you wash your face it feels like it’s going to crack and rough.
For oily skin…
Is usually has excess shine. Pores are visible on your face. You’ll have a light sheen in the t-zone area. Your skin dent to have breakouts and blackheads.
For sensitive skin…
Whenever apply anything to your face it starts to stings, burns, and itches. Sensitivity can show in many ways. Your skin can be dry or flaky when it’s irritated.
For aging skin…
Fine lines or wrinkles are around your eyes or mouth. Aging skin can still have all three skin listed above. We’ll all aging at some point in life.
Cleaner for every skin type.
These cleaners are the best way to start your skincare routine every morning and night. Cleaners are to wash the first layer of skin. It’s not supposed to strip your skin natural oils. The cleaners should be mild. Depending on your skin concerns some cleaners have vitamins snd antioxidants.
The second step of your skincare routine is a toner. Toner is used to getting the rest of the dirt, oil, leftovers makeup that the cleaners miss. Some toners do add a little bit extra to your routines depending on your skin concerns.
The third step is to add your oils.
The fourth set is moistures or SPF. Moisturizer puts moisture back into your skin or adding more moisture. Most moisturizers do have SPF already mix in.
The last step depends on your age for a nighttime routine (Ages 29-50+.) At night you would put retinol as just before you put your moisturizer.
For my dry skin Glamies here’s a list of products to try out in your skincare routine.

Cleansers formulated with blemish-busting, oil-absorbing salicylic acid are second to none for oily skin. CeraVe’s SA Smoothing Cleanser, $12, is beauty editor Lucy Partington’s all-time favourite.
A powerhouse resveratrol cocktail, AlumierMD HydraClarité Moisturiser, $52, is specially formulated for oily skin as it inhibits acne-causing bacteria while defending against environmental damage.
A mattifying, non-comedogenic formula that keeps oil at bay, Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Anti-Imperfection Protection Cream SPF50, $12, comes recommended by us and top dermatologists.
Oily skin tolerates retinol best as it helps unclog pores and reduce breakouts. The Inkey List’s Retinol Serum, $9.99, is formulated with squalane, a super hydrator, and is very effective for the price.
For my sensitive Glamies here’s your skincare routine.
Pai’s Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, $30, is free of soap and fragrance and will help soothe any existing skin irritation while effectively and gently dissolving make-up, dirt and impurities.

La Roche-Posay’s Redermic R Retinol Treatment, $32, has been specially formulated for sensitive skin, and a low entry-level concentration of 0.3% retinol means it’s unlikely to cause any further unwanted sensitivity.
For my aging Glamies here’s your skincare routine.
Nothing beats Dr Sam’s mild, non-stripping and non-comedogenic Flawless Cleanser, $16. It also works perfectly alongside retinol, the best skincare ingredient of all for ageing skin.
One of the most effective l-ascorbic acid-based serums we’ve come across – and we’ve come across a lot – Garden of Wisdom’s Vitamin C 23% and Ferulic Acid, $10
The higher the protection, the more effective it’ll be, which is important for ageing skin. Skin is often drier as it ages but Heliocare’s Advanced Gel SPF50, $18.50, is specifically formulated for fragile skin.
The most ground-breaking retinol-based formula of recent times, Medik8’s patented R-Retinoate Intense night cream, $210, does wonders for skin’s tone and texture.
I hope this give you a guide on the type of products you should look out for. There are many different skincare products that you can choose from in many prices ranges. I think it’s always a good idea to talk to your dermatologist to narrow down the products you need or don’t need. A dermatologist is the true expert on skincare needs.
